The Chavenage Bat Box is a durable and thoughtfully designed single-chamber nesting box, crafted to support a variety of bat species including Pipistrelle, Noctule, Leisler’s, Natterer’s, Daubenton's, and Brown Long-eared bats. Constructed from untreated, high-quality, durable timber, this bat box offers excellent insulation and longevity, providing a safe and comfortable roosting environment for bats. Its natural timber construction ensures that bats are not deterred by any treatments or odours, making it an ideal addition to gardens, woodlands, or house walls.
The Chavenage Bat Box features a narrow entrance slot at the base, designed to prevent predation while allowing easy access for bats. The internal surfaces are roughened to facilitate climbing, and an external ladder aids in bat entry. For maintenance, the base can be accessed by removing a single screw, though it's important to note that under the Wildlife & Countryside Act, only licensed bat workers may inspect bat boxes when bats are present.
